Red Hook Tavern

**At the time of writing this, the Red Hook Tavern burger was $29. I went back to the Tavern and the quality and the experience was lesser than.

Price: $32

  • Meat: Tender medium-rare 70/30 Dry-aged

  • Bun: Special bread made by Egyptians deep in Long Island. They borrow the bread from Peter Luger

  • Cheese: American

  • Extras: Onions

  • Sides: Fries (included)

  • Sauce: N/A

True to its name, Red Hook Tavern offers a cozy tavern setting, featuring a welcoming bar and several tables arranged across from it. On my first visit, I chose to sit at the bar with Nicole, and we had a wonderful experience. The bartender was attentive and hospitable, even offering a few complimentary items, which added a thoughtful touch to the visit.

The burger remains, to this day, my favorite. It’s straightforward and well executed—no unnecessary additions, just onion, cheese, and perfectly cooked meat, served with fries and a pickle on the side. I’ve visited Red Hook Tavern twice so far, and I’m confident it won’t be my last time returning for that burger.

As noted in the photo excerpt, I visited the tavern again more recently and, unfortunately, the overall quality did not meet my previous experience. The same level of care and attention to detail did not come through during that visit. Furthermore, the price increase directly affects the quality to value ratio in a negative way.
