The first thing that stood out was the character of the meat itself. It carried a distinctly old-school aroma—reminiscent of classic burgers before intricate meat blends became the norm. I took an initial bite of the patty on its own, without the bread or toppings, and it delivered a familiar, traditional burger flavor. While the meat could have benefited from slightly more seasoning, the burger came together nicely once combined with the vegetables, creating a balanced bite. I chose to eat it exactly as served, without adding sauce or extra salt, to experience it as the kitchen intended. The bread was particularly enjoyable; grilled to achieve a lightly charred, toasted texture, it helped maintain the burger’s structure throughout the meal. Overall, it’s a solid burger—perhaps not one I would travel specifically for, but certainly one I would order again if I were in the area.
Notably, fries were included, which has become increasingly uncommon. They arrived piping hot and, while straightforward in preparation, were satisfying nonetheless. Some were crispier than others, but having fries included as part of the meal is always appreciated.
The bar itself has a warm, homey atmosphere. The Irish staff were efficient and attentive, creating a relaxed, no-frills environment. It’s clear the establishment has a loyal group of regulars, and as far as Irish pubs go, the setting felt authentic and welcoming.
